Along with the arrival of spring, the time has come for the second year of sowing corn as part of the SMARTWATER project.
The sowing location, as in previous year, is on the experimental fields of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Science in Butmir, near Sarajevo. The fields are 505m above sea level.
Experimental activities will be carried out on a plot of 400 m2, with three cultivation variants: without irrigation, with deficient irrigation and with complete irrigation.
After preparing the soil for sowing, the domestic maize hybrid: BL 40 was sown on an area of 6000 m2.
Following this year of experiment, an evaluation and application of different growth simulator models such as BlueLeaf, AquaCrop, SIMDualKc and DSSAT will be applied.
