In the scope of the ENCONTRO CIÊNCIA – the Portuguese National Meeting with Science and Technology – the SMARTWATER project “Promoting SMART agricultural WATER management in Bosnia and Herzegovina” will be promoted
ENCONTRO CIÊNCIA is the largest scientific meeting in Portugal. Last year it had 860 participants in presence and 11288 online. The CIÊNCIA’22 edition of this annual meeting of Science, Technology, and Innovation will take place from May 16-18, 2022, at the Lisbon Congress Center. In each edition of the event, a country is selected to host the event and this time the selected country is Egypt.
This year, CIÊNCIA’22 is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT).
CIÊNCIA’22 focuses on Building the Future with Science theme, naturally, because of the current context experienced in Portugal, Europe, and the world, two years after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and almost 60 days after the Russia x Ukraine armed conflict. With the constant concern and uncertainties in this new world reality, we need science and scientific development, now more than ever, to build our future in a fairer and equally sustainable way in social, environmental, and economic aspects.
Ciência’22 will include several parallel thematic sessions from international partnerships of universities, companies, and other national entities. The participation of Portuguese R&D institutions will be particularly active through papers and demonstrations of R&D activities and posters by Ph.D. students with scholarships funded by the FCT. In this forum, researchers from all R&D areas will present their research, so there is an excellent opportunity to share the SMARTWATER project with researchers, entrepreneurs, students, and the general public from Portugal, Egypt, and Europe.
Ciência’22 is promoted by the Foundation for Science and Technology in collaboration with Ciência Viva and the Parliamentary Committee for Education, Science, Youth and Sports, and also has the institutional support of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education.
