SMARTWATER project at VIII INOVAGRI INTERNATIONAL MEETING (VIII INOVAGRI) and XXXII BRAZILIAN CONGRESS OF IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE (XXXII CONIRD), in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil

The SMARTWATER project crosses the Atlantic and will be one of the presentations in the scientific programme of the VIII INOVAGRI and XXXII CONIRD, to be held from 13 to 15 September 2023, in Fortaleza, State of Ceará in Brazil, under the theme “Irrigated agriculture in Brazil and worldwide: scientific technologies for sustainable food production”.

INOVAGRI is considered the main scientific event held in Brazil, with a focus on irrigation and the rational use of water in agriculture. In its eighth edition, the event will take place together with the XXXII Brazilian Congress of Irrigation and Drainage (CONIRD). The event will consist of round tables with the publication of scientific papers in poster modality and oral presentations, distributed in 20 thematic axes.

According to the Organising Committee, the main objective of this event is to promote an exchange of knowledge among those involved with the theme of water in rural areas, encompassing a discussion on new technologies in irrigation for the sustainable use of natural resources in irrigated agriculture.

The poster presentation entitled SMARTWATER – Tecnologias para a gestão e uso eficiente da água num contexto sustentável e ecoeficiente na irrigação – addressed sustainable water management in agriculture, including through professional networking in the field of smart irrigation and the use of smart technologies, in several joint activities and maize field trials, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the three days of the Congress, will be attended by several professionals from different educational and research institutions and companies linked to the irrigation sector. Among the speakers confirmed at the event are professionals from several countries such as USA, Italy, Spain, Chile, UK, Portugal, Uruguay and Brazil.
